Fed up with the fleeting nature of digital art and communication – and yet also deeply inspired by our capacity to use digital media to create a sense of closeness across vast geographies – we are calling for the Tangibility Revival. We are energized by our on-going use of the postal service, by ringing our friends’ doorbells, by having face-to-face conversations in unlikely places, by getting our pants dirty and our shirts wet.
This makes me wonder how many people feel like they don't fit in while their higher selves are chatting away with all kinds of kindred souls. I mentioned this idea of constantly being in communication with the folks we feel closest even when we're far apart to Shannon today, who immediately said, "That makes such sense, because when we see each other again after a long time, it feels like we were never apart!" Exactly.
ReplyDeleteShannon and I did yoga together today, made lunch afterward and coached. It felt good to be soulful within that box you've titled "Philadelphia."
